Still no trackpad love in latest Boot Camp
So Boot Camp 2.1 came out yesterday. This release has official Vista x64 support but the trackpad issues (no two finger right click, erratic two finger scrolling) have not been fixed. This is starting to smell bad and it has Steve Jobs’ name all over it.

It has been a long time since we’ve heard about Boot Camp, perhaps because Leopard finally got released and Boot Camp is officially out of beta. Still, Apple has made improvements upon its software that allows Intel Mac users to run Windows, and the company released a Boot Camp 2.1 update today for Windows XP, and Windows Vista (both 32- and 64-bit versions).

Apple BootCamp addresses issues and improves compatibility with Microsoft Windows XP and Microsoft Windows Vista running on a Mac computer using Boot Camp. It is highly recommended for all Boot Camp users. Important: Installation of Boot Camp 2.1 is required before installing Windows XP Service Pack 3 (SP3) .

Boot Camp 2.1 is available for download from the Apple download page. This update is recommended for all Boot Camp users and should be installed prior to installing SP3 for WinXP.
Note of caution – If you did any driver updates on your own (from your XP or Vista installation) version 2.1 of Boot Camp may overwrite the newer drivers with older versions.

Good news for those who use Bootcamp, Apple recently released Bootcamp 2.1. The Bootcamp 2.1 update is for Windows XP, Vista 32 bit, and Vista 64 bit. This update addresses issues and improves compatibility.
According to the Apple support site you need to install Bootcamp 2.1 before before Windows Service Pack 3 (SP3). The Windows XP download is 215MB, Vista 32-bit is 228MB, and Vista 64-bit is 236MB.

Apple’s decision to move its Macintosh computing platform to Intel processors has opened up a world of possibilities, none more obvious than the release this week of a beta software wizard called Boot Camp. This elegant little application allows Intel-based Mac users to repartition their hard drive, install Windows XP, and dual boot between XP and Mac OS X 10.4 "Tiger"

Hi
I am running Leopard 10.5.2 and installed Boot Camp using the assistant version 2.0 with Windows XP. Then I installed VMware Fusion and used the Boot Camp.
Is this the best way to do this or is it better not to use Boot Camp and just to use VMware Fusion?
Second question is Apple has updated Boot Camp Assistant to version 2.1. Is it best to run this or not?
If so how do I apply the update?

I am using a Macintosh ATM and it has been really dodgy with Boot Camp version 2.1 build 210A12. It constantly freezes. It also makes the "usb disconnect" sound around 10 secs after comp freezes. it plays another one at a random time later, but to no avail. it hasn’t yet, but the comp usually plays the usb "plugged in" sound and then everything works again in a second or two (it has a long history). I thinking of bug or something in 2.1.
